As the wheel of the year turns and we arrive at the Autumn Equinox, we find ourselves standing at a threshold.
A moment of balance.
During the Autumn Equinox, day and night are nearly equal. It is a moment of equilibrium between light and dark before we begin our gradual movement toward the darker half of the year.
Join me for an intimate, full-day retreat rooted in ritual, herbalism, nourishment, and connection with the plants.
Together, we'll spend the day intentionally marking the turning of the season. Through ritual, conversation, hands-on herbalism, and shared nourishment, we'll explore what it means to move into autumn with greater awareness and preparation.
With a small group, we'll create space to gather with the herbs, make medicine, share a nourishing meal, and deepen our energetic relationship with the plants.
Throughout the day, we'll explore the energetics of autumn and work with both fresh and dried plants. We'll spend time getting to know the plants not only through what they do, but through the relationships and invitations they offer us.
This day retreat is also an introduction to building your own Autumn Medicine Cabinet, exploring ways to begin stocking your home with simple, seasonal herbal preparations to carry you through the months ahead.
Together, we'll work with a variety of herbal preparations, including:
Herbal honeys
Syrups and oxymels
Herbal-infused oils
Tea blending
Salves and lip balms
This will be a hands-on, immersive day of working with the plants. We'll smell, taste, touch, blend, infuse, harvest, and create while learning about the different ways plants can be prepared and incorporated into our lives, our homes and hold us through the seasonal rhythms.
Rather than rushing through a list of recipes, we'll take our time.
Creating space for questions, conversation, ritual, learning, and connection.
Begin Building Your Autumn Medicine Cabinet
Each participant will create and take home four seasonal herbal preparations to begin building their own Autumn Medicine Cabinet. Along the way, you'll gain a foundational understanding of different herbal preparation methods and how you might begin choosing and creating medicines that support you and your household throughout the changing seasons.
All herbs, supplies, materials and packaging are included.
A Shared Seasonal Lunch
We'll gather around the table to share a nourishing, herbalism-focused lunch featuring local and nutrient-dense ingredients inspired by the abundance of the season.
Food, plants and medicine have always been deeply intertwined.
Our shared meal will be another opportunity to experience the ways nourishment and herbalism can live alongside one another in our everyday lives.
As we move toward the darker half of the year, this day retreat is an invitation to pause and ask:
What are we gathering?
What are we preserving?
What are we carrying forward?
What are we preparing for?
Come spend the Autumn Equinox with your hands in the herbs, gathered around the table and in community with others who feel called to deepen their relationship with the plants and the changing seasons.
