The Life I Didn’t Choose..Mourning Loss of Self: Grief Circle

  • Sakala 1660 Gilpin Street Denver, CO, 80218 United States (map)

Hosted by the Denver Deathcare Collective. Where grief is tended and death is sacred.

These monthly grief circles at Sakala Community are a compassionate space to hold your sorrow in the embrace of community.

In this month’s circle, Isabel Ranney of Wild Willow Alchemy is partnering with Gillian Grant of Soul Healing with Gillian to offer a transformation of grief through journaling and movement. Together, we’ll honor the grief that comes from living a life of what we are told rather than what is aligned in our hearts; the grief we carry around identity. We will invite release of this grief through story telling and support integration through movement and journaling.

Our time together will include:

  • Grounding to arrive fully in the body

  • Story telling of living a life we’re told rather than need

  • Shaking/Dancing/Movement to release grief

  • Shifting the narrative of our identities through reflection and community sharing

Who it’s for:

This circle is for anyone moving through grief of lives or identities lost, time lost living a life for someone else rather than for ourselves. All are welcome here.

What to bring:

  • Water

  • A journal and pen

  • Anything special you need to get grounded and feel supported in the space

  • Yoga mats, blankets, and bolsters are provided for sitting
